At JayCee Functional Furniture, we care about the impact our furniture has on the environment and on the well-being of our customers. Here are just a few of the ways we ensure our furniture meets--and even exceeds-- the highest environmental standards:

  • Our furniture does not contain PVC. PVC in furniture often contains phthalates, which are considered to be a reproductive toxin and a hazard to health, especially that of children and teenagers.
  • The chipboard used in our furniture contains a minimum of 25% recycled wood. Using recycled wood helps save energy that would be otherwise used to press and create new chipboard, in addition to saving more trees from being chopped down.
  • Our furniture is fabricated in a plant where 34% of the energy consumption is CO2 neutral.
  • All furniture from Denmark is PEFC certified. This means that our furniture is manufactured using wood from sustainable forests, as certified by the independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization PEFC.
  • The factory where our furniture is produced has reduced emissions from the chipboard by 50%. Formaldehyde emissions from chipboard have been cut in half, in accordance with the Californian CARB-standard, the most stringent of such standards in the world. Formaldehyde emissions are less than half the quantity permitted by European law today.
  • All of our furniture from Denmark carries the Indoor Climate Label. This ensures our furniture have passed inspections that confirm our products do not emit substances that are harmful to health.
  • The cardboard used to pack our ready-to-assemble furniture consists of 98% recycled material.
  • The vast majority of our furniture is made in Denmark, a world leader in environmental initiatives.
